Ultra Megalopolis - Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon

A RUINED CITY IN ULTRA SPACE. It is unclear whether this is a different universe's Ultra Megalopolis or smaller colony. Regardless, it is a dark city with intermittent sections of flickering, artificial light... Large, black prism-like skyscrapers loom above flat black streets. Much ruin has fallen here, but you get the sense that you're not alone...

Their trip to the Lesser Megalopolis could not have come at worse timing.

'Night' had fallen onto the City of Darkness. Feral Megalopolans wandered the street, looking out for anyone to attack. It seemed that even the slightest provocation could trigger them into a frenzy.

As much as Dorian wanted to just wipe them all out, there were far too many for him and Ryker to take. No, they'd have to be smart about this, if they wanted to survive.

"Yo, Ryker.", Dorian called out to his friend. "Why don't we try our luck with the underground tunnels? I'm hoping we can bypass the horde this way.", he'd suggest to the assassin, his voice but a whisper.

Night shrouded them, but that didn't make him any less alert. His eyes tracked the movements around them, noting how many Megalopolans there seemed to be. A rough estimate made him realize that there were too many of them.

There were too many for him and Dorian to take on by themselves, unless they both had a death wish anyway.

The older male's voice pulled his thoughts away from pointless deaths, and he turned his attention to his friend. "Lead the way," he said, keeping his own voice low.

It was clear that he would allow Dorian to take the lead while he took up the rear. That way, if any stray Megalopolans strayed away from the group and snuck up on them while they were in the tunnels, he could take them out before they realized what was happening.[break] dorian westcliff

With Ryker having his back, Dorian slipped into the entrance to what seemed to be a subway system.

Upon turning on his flashlights, he could see that the Megalopolis Subway tunnels were in a state of decay. The only light they had to fall back on was either their flashlights, or any Pokemon that could illuminate the area naturally.

"I know I'm preaching to the choir, but stay frosty. Who knows what's lurking in these Arceus-forsaken tunnels.", he'd caution Ryker. Though as he acknowledged, Ryker was the last person who'd needed to be advised on such a thing.

Dorian slowly pressed forward, making sure to carefully scan the area ahead of them with his flashlight.

An abandoned subway tunnel.

Well, that wasn't creepy or anything.
[break][break]
Something told him they would need to keep their wits about them. Not that he was planning on doing anything different. As a trained assassin, he had been taught to always remain alert.

As Dorian entered the subway system, he kept his hand near the hilt of his knife. Unlike last time, he hadn't brought his swords. He hadn't had the time to tend to the blades. Not that he really needed them. He was more than competent without them.

"Don't let your guard down either," he responded in a lowered voice.

Every now and then, he would glance over his shoulder to scan the area behind them. It was made harder by the darkness of the subway system, but he managed.

Each time he did this, he saw nothing. So he would turn his attention forward once more, but make sure to listen out for sounds from behind them.[break] dorian westcliff

As the duo pressed through the tunnel, the sounds of Pokemon cries could be heard ahead. Many of the cries were of Pokemon that were of their world, rather than that of the Ultra Beasts.

"You think others had the same idea?", Dorian whispered, before pressing on.

What they'd find were several different Pokemon, who had no doubt been displaced into the tunnels. Upon spotting the humans, many of them charged towards the two. Some of them even utilized Shadow Rush, in an attempt to run them down.

Dorian's Red Genesect moved to intercept them, attempting to overwhelm them with its Extreme Speed.

As they moved through the tunnel, he could hear the sound of Pokémon cries. He almost felt he could recognize a few of them, meaning that they came from their world. That was definitely a surprise since he wasn’t aware that Pokémon outside of Ultra Beast could reside with her.

“Probably, it was probably more driven by survival instincts,” he said with a shrug. To be honest, he didn’t really care why they were down here; all that mattered was that they weren’t having to deal with the residents trying to eat them.

Seeing the Pokémon, he released a Pokémon of his own. A Zorua appeared in a ball of light and immediately used Night Daze on a few of them, hoping to throw some back with the shock wave from the move. Considering how fast they were going, that was a definite possibility since the opposing Pokémon probably wouldn’t be able to evade the attack.[break] dorian westcliff

As the battle with the Shadow Pokemon raged on, a Blacephalon crept up to the group. The bulbous-headed alien attempted to get in close, ready to throw its head towards them, blowing them up.

The Shiny Genesect spotted the Genesect coming. Acting quickly, the automaton fired a Zap Cannon at the Blacephalon. As the Zap Cannon connected with the Ultra Beast, the creature found itself paralyzed. It attempted to grab its head, only to find its muscles seizing up.

The Genesect, using its Extreme Speed, quickly scooped up Dorian, and attempted to scoop up Ryker as well. Prince Beepboop, having dealt with Blacephalon during the last trip to the city, remembered their tendency to explode, and made it their mission to protect the two Rockets.

As observant as he was, with his attention focused on the battle, he didn’t even notice they were in the line of danger until the Genesect fired off a zap cannon at something behind them. His hand instinctively fell to the hilt of one of his knives as he glanced behind him. Seeing it wasn’t a megalopolan, he slightly relaxed but didn’t relax fully.

With his attention fixed on the ultrabeast, he didn’t even notice the Genesect moving towards him until he had been scooped up by the other Pokémon. Though even if he had noticed, he wouldn’t have tried to avoid being picked up. Though he didn’t know much about the Ultra Beast, he knew that they could be a danger to run into and that if even Dorian’s Pokémon didn’t want to stick the battle out, it was more dangerous than it seemed.[break] dorian westcliff
